Among all the feathers jostling for breathing space in Priyanka Chopra’s cap, the lady also earned the title of the Most Googled Oscar Look of 2016, courtesy her Zuhair Murad outing for the Academy Awards last year.
But the actor almost didn’t create internet history due to one tiny problem: the dress had yet to be altered for her toned figure. Priyanka’s close friend and stylist Sophia Banks spoke to us about her experience from ground zero at the Awards and trust us, it wasn’t all champagne and dress-up. “I flew to Montreal where Priyanka was filming Quantico with about 40 gowns in tow. We then did the fitting and the white was a top option along with many others, but it needed alterations.
“Priyanka arrived in Los Angeles on Saturday morning before the Oscars and we did yet another fitting to make sure it worked. We were with her, fixing everything to be just so, right up till the moment Priyanka walked out the door,” she recalls.
The hunt for the perfect dress took the better part of three months; “I started looking before Christmas for the perfect dress. I was in love with Zuhair Murad’s designs and when I saw that white dress, the style flew off the runway and grabbed my attention right away. I knew in my heart that this was her dress,” she says with a smile.
