Queen Elizabeth just made a surprise appearance at London Fashion Week

Queen Elizabeth II made a surprise, unannounced visit to London Fashion Week. The 91-year-old monarch arrived at the Richard Quinn show during London Fashion Week at the BFC Showspace in an Angela Kelly blue, crystal-embellished skirt and jacket, all smiles for the paparazzi and amazed showgoers. She knows she’s chic and the best part of this event:

She carried a classic black handbag:

Elizabeth is on hand to present the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design to an emerging talent, royal reporter Richard Palmer tweeted. The award, according to ET Canada, “will go each year to an up-and-coming British fashion designer who shows exceptional talent and originality while also displaying value to the community and strong sustainable policies.”

The Queen’s appearance follows the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange reception that Kate Middleton hosted last night at Buckingham Palace.
