Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone put up a united front at the Padmaavat screening last night, literally refusing to leave each other’s side. Ranveer arrived at the screening in the same car as his girlfriend (and rumoured fiancee?), and proceeded to face the waiting paparazzi hand-in-hand, making a wordless but clear statement to the haters who’ve been speculating about the status of their relationship. Deepika was dressed in an off-white sheer anarkali from designer Anamika Khanna, while Ranveer complemented her in a custom-made kurta and churidaar from Herringbone & Sui.
The two were all smiles as they prepared for the launch of their controversial film, despite the ongoing threats by fringe groups across the country to disrupt screenings.
Shahid Kapoor, who plays Deepika’s love interest in the film, also showed up to the Padmaavat screening with wife Mira, father Pankaj Kapoor and brother Ishaan cheering him on.
