Twenty-five-year-old Franco-Indian Naina De Bois-Juzan longed for the quaint charm, lush produce and seasonal menus of French bistros she had become accustomed to. So she opened her own French restaurant – the wildly popular Le Bistro Du Parc – smack-bang in the middle of Delhi’s Defence Colony, and transplanted all those little details here. De Bois–Juzan’s story is just one of a video series produced by Label by Ritu Kumar (fine art photographer Prarthna Singh and organic farmer Carishma Mehta will also get episodes). Titled, ‘The Originals’, the designer aims to turn the lens on intelligent, enterprising Indian women who’ve boldly pursued their passions. These women, she maintains, are the quintessential Label muse.
In the video above, Naina chats about her vision for her restaurant, what she loves most about running a business, and the challenges she faces as a working woman in India. Don’t miss the fashion in the frame; she is dressed entirely in Label.
