After teasing us with mysterious images on Instagram, Prabal Gurung’s much-awaited fall/winter campaign is finally here. And British model and actress, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, has been revealed as its face.
Styled by Elin Svahn and shot by Daniel Jackson, the campaign features Huntington-Whiteley in embellished gowns, fur jackets, sweaters and scarves – all against the backdrop of a red-and-purple-tinged lunar landscape. But unfortunately, the crew wasn’t flown to the moon and had to settle for New York’s Pier 59 Studio instead.
Huntington-Whiteley was chosen for her global visibility, which reflected Gurung’s own experience of living in Nepal, India, UK, Australia, and finally, New York, USA. “As the business is growing exponentially, I wanted to focus on someone who has international appeal,” explained Gurung to WWD.
Christopher Simmonds, who has previously worked with the designer, was the creative director for the campaign.
