Since he’s become a husband and a father, Ryan Reynolds can’t help but say adorable things about his wife, Blake Lively. And at the Met Gala on Monday night, which this year honoured Comme des Garçons founder Rei Kawakubo, the actor won our hearts over once again. Photoblog Humans of New York shared just one portrait from the high-fashion event, and it beautifully captured Ryan and Blake inside the the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Just to highlight why these two are known as the perfect celebrity couple, the post also featured a personal message from the Deadpool star.
“She always responds with empathy,” the note said. “She meets anger with empathy. She meets hate with empathy. She’ll take the time to imagine what happened to a person when they were five or six years old. And she’s made me a more empathetic person. I had a very fractured relationship with my father. Before he died, she made me remember things I didn’t want to remember. She made me remember the good times.”
Thanks to Ryan’s sweet words, the photo received over 750,000 likes just seven hours after it was shared. And their co-ordinated outfits didn’t go unnoticed either.
The couple maintained their reputation as one of the best dressed in Hollywood, with Blake taking an unexpected departure from her recent red carpet looks in an Atelier Versace gown. It featured draped gold beading at the bodice, giving way to a plumed train in shades of blue, while Ryan matched his wife by pairing his tux with a sky blue bow-tie.
