Sabyasachi Mukherjee is one of the rare designers who most brides dream to be dressed by. Taking his legacy forward, the Kolkata-based designer, who has completed 20 years in the industry, will be bringing his eclectic craft to high-street brand H&M on April 16. The upcoming collection is titled ‘Wanderlust’ and will be bringing forth this aesthete’s know-how to an affordable range of clothing, much to everyone’s joy.
In a statement, the designer shared, “I am happy to announce the collaboration with H&M, as it gives us the opportunity to spread the Sabyasachi aesthetic to a wider audience in India and worldwide. Having done couture for the majority of my career, it is very exciting to bring that finesse of craft to ‘ready-to-wear’ and create whimsical and fluid silhouettes that bring relaxed sophistication to everyday life.”
This is also one of the first times that H&M is collaborating with an Indian designer after much-talked about associations with luxury houses like Giambattista Valli, Balmain, Versace and Moschino, among many others.
A key highlight of this collection will be Indian textiles and prints—Sabyasachi’s signature—which will be brought to life by the Sabyasachi Art Foundation. The collection will be available in H&M stores in India and across the globe and online on HM.com and Myntra.
