Every bride-to-be dreams of wearing a Sabyasachi lehenga on her wedding day — and Soha Ali Khan Pataudi was no stranger to that dream. The actress, who married Kunal Khemu in 2015, was absolutely clear about what she wanted to wear when she approached the designer for her bridal ensemble. Sabyasachi revealed the story in an Instagram post, “Soha Ali Khan knew what she wanted to wear for her wedding. It was my showstopper lehenga from my Opium collection.”

However, that lehenga came in ivory and gold, and Soha’s mother, Sharmila Tagore insisted on adding some colour to the ensemble. “Kesariya orange, specifically,” said Sabyasachi. “Very few women have taste as exquisite as Sharmila Tagore. Both Soha and I benefitted from her mother’s vision. Soha looked absolutely glorious on her wedding day. With the addition of kesariya, that lehenga became an instant rage. In years to come, a hundred brides would covet it. The Million Flowers lehenga was our first bridal lehenga in ivory. It is now a Sabyasachi classic,” he said.
