This is how actor Samantha Akkineni keeps her skin looking flawless
*obsessively takes notes*
We’ve lost count of the number of times a celebrity or model has credited their daily allowance of 2 litres water for their glowing skin. So when someone candidly shares details on their favourite products and skincare DIYs we’re all ears. More recently, we’ve been making notes of actor and skincare enthusiast Samantha Akkineni ’s beauty routine. Apart from her super acting chops as seen in films like Super Deluxe, Majili and Oh Baby, Samantha has put together a bulletproof skincare routine that tackles every major skin concern. We scrolled through her Instagram feed for her top beauty rituals…
Samantha begins her day with a variation of great-for-skin concoctions. Her first drink includes apple cider vinegar (for a healthy gut and skin), second is pure wheatgrass juice (to cleanse the liver) and she finishes off with a collagen shot (to rehydrate skin).
Samantha Akkineni recommends 10-minutes of facial steaming at least once or twice a week. She prefers to drape a towel over her face and bowl (filled with hot water) to get the most of it. Basically, the heat opens up pores and helps skincare products get better absorbed into the skin. It’s like a mini facial.
If your under-eyes are puffy or dry, gel patches are exactly what you need. We love Samantha’s hack–she used her Jayjun Roselle Tea Eye Gel Patches to cover her whole lid, instead of using them just under her eyes.
Using two face masks, consecutively, helps address multiple concerns, like dryness and dull skin. Samantha likes to first use Holika Holika’s Prime Youth Gold Caviar Gold Foil Mask, which improves skin texture, and then wears SK-II’s cult-favourite Facial Treatment Mask that delivers major hydration.
Rich in oil-zapping actives like betaine salicylate, COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid is a favourite amongst K-beauty lovers. Samantha recommends using it twice a week to effectively get rid of acne and brighten skin.
