Designer Sanjay Garg is bringing special collections from Raw Mango and his eponymous label to the multi-designer store Ensemble in Mumbai. Garg stays true to the art of hand-woven textiles through his work. His classic Sooti collection draws inspiration from the traditional ‘phentiya’ (ghagra), a gathered skirt made out of resist dyed fabric. You can also expect select pieces from Garg’s eponymous line, think dressy lehengas made in jewel-toned silks with intricate ‘kadwa’ brocade. “I have been a big fan of Raw Mango and Sanjay Garg’s work since I first saw his collection several years ago,” says Tina Tahiliani-Parikh, Executive Director at Ensemble. “[We have] always been promoters of Indian textiles and crafts – especially the sari in all its forms – be it traditional or contemporary. We are very excited to unveil this new collection.” We’re just glad we have one more way to get our hands on it!
