‘Laidback and summer ready’ are the two terms that come to mind when you first see Savio Jon’s Summer/Resort 2017 collection. The Goan designer made a comeback with a line that seems perfect for a lazy day at the beach. We saw prints like yacht stripes, Madras checks, Dabu block prints, blotched inks; indigo, Holland wax cotton and discharge marbelling in multi-hued fabrics, that ranged from cotton and canvas to silk and satin.
The hero was in the construction techniques though. The use of contrast top stitching, fin seams, fish nets, crocheting, bondaging, colour blocking and exposed interlocking were the eye-catchers of the outfits was what made the collection stand out.
