By playing key roles in two of the biggest moneymakers released this year, Scarlett Johannson has earned her place right on top of Forbes‘ list of top grossing actors of 2016. Johansson managed to pull off this massive upset even though Forbes didn’t account for Jungle Book and Sing because they were animated features.
The list includes celebrities who’ve had the highest ticket sales globally and with the massive commercial hit Captain America: Civil War and critically acclaimed Hail, Caesar, Johannson has brought in $1.2 billion in ticket sales across the world.
She is followed by her Marvel co-stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., who tie at the second spot with $1.15 billion grossed worldwide. Margot Robbie’s stint as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad landed her the 4th spot, while Amy Adams, who starred in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Arrival, is at number 5.
