Sensible Simmi’s AIFW F/W ’16 report: day 1
Our special correspondent in Delhi is back on the job
Simmi Khanna, 28, is the most sensible girl in all of Safdarjung. She just cannot help it. Good sense is to Simmi what his handlebar is to Sunil Sethi – the two are inseparable. Now her friends have told Simmi that FDCI Amazon India Fashion Week is no place for someone such as herself, but this logical ladki is determined to sit (many rows behind) front row and love all the A/W ’16 shows. See her top picks from day 1:
SHANTANU & NIKHIL
Hi friends, I’m so happy to be back in the thick of fashion! I’m also happy to see the industry take our hon’ble Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to heart. It’s all about creating multi-purpose design. For instance, all this elegant lady has to do is walk around the venue once and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will be spic-n-span.
AKAARO BY GAURAV JAI GUPTA
As an independent woman, I am very particular about dressing myself. But whenever I try to wear a sari without my mother’s help, it looks something like this. It’s not easy to be a feminist and get your pleats right.
They took us to an emu farm from school once and my best friend Dimple tried to feed one and it pecked her hand. God promise, since that day, Dimple is a strict non-vegetarian.
Doordarshan cancelled Shaktimaan in 2005—I remember because I cried so much after the last episode—but this is not the way to honour his memory. Please show some respect.
