As LGBTQ pride month approaches, Sephora has announced a new initiative that aims to create a safe space for its transgender customers. Launching in June, “Bold Beauty for the Transgender Community” is a complimentary 90-minute class for people transitioning and those who identify as transgender or non-binary.
The interactive workshops are meant to help people find their personal style, gain confidence, and discover products that work for their desired self-expression. Sephora’s beauty advisors (including those who are transgender themselves) will guide them in learning techniques including skincare routines, makeup application techniques, shade matching, and colour correcting.
“Sephora Stands is dedicated to supporting diversity and inclusion in all of its social impact programming,” said Corrie Conrad, Sephora’s Head of Social Impact and Sustainability, in a press release. “At Sephora, we believe beauty is yours to define, and ours to celebrate.”
Friends, allies, and family are encouraged to join in on the classes. There is also the Sephora Stands YouTube page, which will soon have tutorials catered to LGBTQA viewers.
