Shraddha Kapoor’s latest venture Rock On 2 may not have met with the same success as its predecessor, but we did have some key takeaways. The rainbow hair that she rocked at the NH7 Weekender in Hyderabad, for instance. If you, like us, have been afraid to dip your toes in the water and try out this ambitious trend, we’ve dug up a quick fix. Shefali Shetty, Senior Salon Director at Bblunt, Khar opened up her bag of tricks and showed us how to DIY Shraddha’s rainbow tresses.
If you can’t conjure the commitment required to actually colouring your hair, these vibrant hair extensions should sort you out. They can be clipped on the lower half of your head.
To work the extensions seamlessly into your hairstyle, opt for a fish tail braid using a small section of the coloured extensions (so that you have some colour in the braid).
Willing to try a more dramatic look? Create two tiny braids on either side of your head. Fold the right one around the crown of your head and pin it securely. Overlap the left braid on top and similarly pin it on the right side. Voilà, a halo braid that’ll neatly camouflage the clips of your extensions.
If you’re wondering what make-up works with your vibrant hairstyle, Melanie D’souza from Fat Mu Pro Make-up has the answers. The make-up artist achieved Shraddha’s rock chick look by lightly pencilling in kohl on her waterline and smudging it slightly for a smoky effect. A light swipe of the Stila Pomegranate Crush Lip and Cheek Stain finished out the look.
