One look at Shriya Bhupal’s pre-wedding function — held last month at the historic Château de Chantilly in Paris — will have you know that the grand-daughter of businessman GVK Reddy appreciates the finer things in life. The designer and founder of the fashion brand Shriya Som is all set to tie the knot to Anindith Reddy, the grandson of Apollo hospitals chairman Pratap C Reddy, on July 6. And it goes without saying that the ceremonies are going to be the epitome of affluence and extravagance.
The luxurious location
Shriya’s 5-day wedding festivities take place at the Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad. “We are starting off the wedding festivities with a small traditional ceremony at home on July 2 with my immediate family members and close friends,” reveals Shriya. “Our main events start from July 4: brunch at home, followed by a soirée the next day, the wedding on July 6 and the reception thereafter at the Taj Falaknuma Palace.”
The dreamy designer ensembles
In case you didn’t remember, Shriya chose a dramatic ruffled Giambattista Valli gown in red for her Paris pre-wedding function. “The thought process behind it was to wear beautiful garments that I would remember forever. I’ve picked my label Shriya Som for the brunch, and will change into a bright orange Ashi Studio gown later.”
The Ashi Studio gown
“For the soirée, I’ve picked an Elie Saab gown from his bridal collection that I fell in love with. The base is an off-shoulder full sleeve bodycon gown, with an overlay of a dramatic skirt. I’m styling it in a boho eclectic way to give it a fun Indian touch,” gushes Shriya. For the after-party, Shriya plans to go lightweight by taking off the skirt and partying in the gown.“

“For the wedding, I’ve selected my favourite designer and mentor Tarun Tahiliani. His garments define perfection. For the reception, I’ll be wearing a lilac floral Marchesa gown,” says Shriya.
The wedding inspiration
Trust a fashion designer to take inspiration from delicate fabrics. “Most of the wedding festivities, including my wedding card, are inspired by the intricacies of Chantilly lace,” says Shriya. Even their pre-wedding location in Paris’ Château de Chantilly was selected because that’s where the lace is made. “The Elie Saab gown for the soirée is also a delicate appliqué of white and beige Chantilly with delicate white pearl beads,” she adds.
The pre-wedding beauty and fitness regimen
“I’m ensuring I eat healthy and follow my daily workout of kickboxing and functional training,” says Shriya.
