Shweta Tripathi’s Cannes diary
The Masaan star gives us an insider's look at the film festival

"The first screening I attended at Cannes: Asif Kapadia's highly-anticipated documentary Amy. I sneaked in without a ticket. (I just had to see it!) Luckily, a little angel helped me with this pass. The film is really lovely, plus I caught Matthew McConaughey and Naomi Watts at the screening!"

"Me with Masaan co-star Vicky Kaushal. We were also invited for the screening of Youth, a brilliant film by Italian director Paolo Sorrentino."

"Met Youth star Michael Caine at the after party – he is the sweetest and loveliest person. Also had wonderful conversations with Rachel Weisz and Ruby Sparks' stars Zoe Kazan and Paul Dano at the after party. I could eat Paul Dano – he's so bloody cute."

"After a seven-hour layover in Paris (just enough time for a quick dash into the city), we're finally here! The best part about being in France? The wine starts flowing at 9am."

Cannes Film Festival, outside of the star-studded red carpet, is just as exciting. So we asked Masaan star Shweta Tripathi – who's just about recovering from the overwhelming five-minute-long standing ovation her film fetched – to give us a peek into her camera roll, just to let you know what you're missing. (Warning: those Louboutins will cause serious envy.)

"I was rushing for a meeting when I saw this super-cute Peanuts Movie set-up across the road. I HAD to get my picture taken there; even if it meant patiently waiting in a queue with little children."

"A pre-dinner photo session with power producer Guneet Monga (she's also produced two of my films - Masaan and Haramkhor). I was so glad we found some time together; she's super busy at Cannes!"
