In the sea of digital grids, it can be overwhelming to keep up with the latest beauty trends, especially when there’s a plethora to choose from. And while we’ve had a tryst in the past with unicorn hair, yellow blush and marble lips, this season’s trends are more understated and skin-focussed.
1. Skinmalism
When skincare and minimalism amalgamate, skinmalism is born. A similar version of the no-makeup makeup look, skinmalism is about using very little makeup and flaunting your natural skin–texture, pores, blemishes. Say goodbye to cakey foundation and heavy contouring.
2. Pastel Eyeliner
Pop of colour can accentuate your look when you’re bored with black. Instagram trendsetters increasingly use pastel blue, green and pink. If you want to really have fun, team your coloured liner with the same hue mascara. A bold move amidst a minimal year–the pastel eyelid is just what we needed.
3. Face Yoga

Did someone say softer and younger-looking skin without jade rollers? Count me in. Even though there are no headstands involved, face yoga works wonders with a range of easy exercises that strengthen and tone face, neck and shoulder muscles while alleviating stress. Improving the overall structure of your face, when practised regularly, it is known to contain sagging and underage dark circles while boosting lymphatic drainage.
5. Curtain Bangs

From Priyanka Chopra to JLo and Kaley Cuoco, celebrities have embraced the face-framing fringe. Rooted in the 60s and 70s, it’s versatile nature goes instantly with long, short, wavy or straight hair. Don’t worry about styling or straightening them. The trend demands a casual, air-dried look.
6. Squiggly Nails

Yes, mismatched nails are still trending, but hear me out. They aren’t sticking around for too long. Say hello to squiggly nails in all hues you can imagine. Influencers are sticking to earthy tones on a muted base, but playing with colour is always in style. It’s all about painting squiggly lines inconsistently yet subtly. The idea is to embrace imperfections inside you, so why leave our nails out?
7. Blushing Beauty

Blush is back! In sync with skinmalism, this trend has been embraced by Simone Rocha S/S 21 and Erdem S/S 21 for a hassle-free glow up. Take lessons from Rosie and apply a subtle pink blush on your cheeks while pairing it with a soft nude/pink lip and brushed up eyebrows.
