From Sonam to Deepika, beauty looks we can’t wait to try this season
Red carpet glamour galore
Once you manage to tear your eyes from the ginormous rose on her shoulder (it'll be hard, but you can do it), Deepika's radiant face captures all your attention. She (wisely) decided to forego any bold lip colour and kept her make-up minimal and fresh to offset the drama of her dress. There's a little gold on her eye lids and she has gone with a classic cat-eye with eyelashes till out there, but it just balances the whole make-up in proportion to outfit equation.
Newbie Disha Patani wisely strayed from going overboard with her hair and make-up, seeing as her sparkly bodice and bottle green gown and trousers hybrid would have been unforgiving for a bold make-up look. Her choice of a classic cat-eye and pink lips makes us wonder if there's a pattern going on here. We're not complaining.
Going with a sleek bun, Radhika Apte made a strong case for less-is-more. Her nude lips and subtle smokey eyes are proof that you need to find one key focus piece in your overall look and work it to grab all the eyeballs.
If you did a double take while looking at Saiyami Kher at the red carpet then join the club, however strange and useless this club maybe. The Mirzya actress ditched her usual mass of corkscrew curls in favour of far more subtle waves. She did the winged eye shadow trick for her eyes and went with a minimal look for the rest of her face.
Sonam Kapoor's ultra voluminous skirt demanded a minimal make-up and hair look to keep in accord with the golden rule (ICYMI, it's balance. It's always balance). While she went with glossy pink lips, her eyes were where the party was at. Going all out glamorous on the eyes, she went with a metallic, shimmery eye shadow and exaggerated lashes. Guess when you're Sonam Kapoor you can get away with breaking a few rules, yeah?
Some people have cat videos and some have infinite cups of coffee. Everyone has their own way of dealing with Monday blues, and ours is looking at the variety of envy-inducing red carpet looks, courtesy all our favourite celebrities, and spending an inordinate amount of time trying to replicate them (sometimes successfully and sometimes horrifically, you can't win all the time). The red carpet at the 2016 Star Screen Awards didn't disappoint.
While Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone didn't experiment much with their hair (they went with a sleek bun), we loved Sonam's shimmery eyes and Deepika's nude lips and dewy skin that were a pleasant departure from the gothic-grunge look she'd been favouring for some of her recent outings.
Saiyami Kher tamed her wild curls into subtle waves proving without doubt that she can work the best of both worlds. If there is one lesson we can take from the looks, it's finding the right balance between your outfit and your make-up. That sage piece of advice out of the way, get ready to take copious notes.

Alia Bhatt took a page out of Sonam Kapoor's book and went with a nude lip and shimmery eyes combo. Just like her outfit (that was a break from the traditional red carpet gown affair), she left her hair partly open, with a slightly off-centre part and loose waves framing her face. We don't know a lot of things about the world and how it works, but what we do know is that this one is going in our list of looks to try this party season.
In line with her last red carpet outing, Surveen Chawla's deep red lips and messy low ponytail was va-va-voom to say the least. What we loved more was the lack of any statement accessories that would take away from the drama of her look. Also note her subtle smokey eyes that just lend to the sexy siren image.
