Shoe maverick Sophia Webster teamed up with TONI&GUY for their limited-edition Hair Meets Wardrobe line – and it looks as stunning as her hot heels.
ELLE: How did your collaboration with TONI&GUY come about?
Sophia Webster: I’ve worked with TONI&GUY in the past on my London Fashion Week presentations – I absolutely love working with the brand’s Creative Director, Mark Hampton because I’ve come to realize that we have a similar process when it comes to creative ideation. This collaboration came to me as naturally as breathing.
ELLE: What was the inspiration behind the line?
SW: With the past decade being huge on women-power, I could only think of the Mayan apocalyptic girl-gang when conceptualising this collection. Leopard prints, Aztec prints and jungle foliage in electrifying acid hues defined the collection. Think girl-gang warriors clad in knee-padded thigh-high boots, banana print backpacks, jungle clutches and weighty embellishments.
ELLE: Who do you turn to for beauty inspiration?
SW: I think Gwen Stefani always looks so perfect and put together. She always wears a perfect shade of lipstick and she never has roots!
ELLE: What are the beauty secrets you swear by?
SW: My eyelash extensions. They say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I think the latter part of that sentence is redundant. It’s more like ‘Beauty is in the eyes.’ Period.
