Steal Kate Bosworth’s style

For her latest venture, Kate Bosworth has turned techie. The actress has launched an app called Style Thief, along with retail chain American Rag Cie and the former president of Gemstar-TV Guide Interactive. The app lets you take a photo of a fashion item, image search it and buy it – all with a few clicks.

“Everyone has fashion envy,” Bosworth told WWD. “Everyone can relate to that feeling of looking at an editorial, for example — or a friend, or the runway, for that matter — wanting to steal something exactly as they’re seeing it, or something similar.”

With the launch of this app, the surge in mobile commerce seems to have gotten bigger than ever. Style Thief collates search results from more than 300 retailers, including Forever 21, Madison, Saks Fifth Avenue and Moda Operandi. This comes close on the heels of Shopcade launching in India with e-commerce sites like Stylista.com, Koovs.com and Bhane.com.
