It all began in 2002 with Paris Hilton who made the glitzy chainmail mini dress popular when she wore it to one of her many parties to celebrate her 21st birthday. Fifteen years later, we saw Kendall Jenner pay homage to the chainmail dress on her 21st birthday, when she wore an exact replica of Paris’ dress. A year later, we have Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan — who isn’t even 21 yet — taking the trend forward.
To commemorate her final year at Ardingly College in England, Suhana chose a one-shoulder chainmail mini dress by designer Monisha Jaising that she styled with silver platform heels:
Though Paris and Kendall may have chosen bolder versions, Suhana’s dress is perfect for girls who don’t want to go too OTT (as if that’s even possible with a metallic dress like this, but you know what we’re getting at.)
