The best moments from Paris Couture Week
The highlights that had us talking animatedly all through the week

Elie Saab showed us his signature ladylike structures, and tossed in plenty of sequins and crystals for definition and texture. A lot of the pieces were adorned with ostrich plumes to amp up the looks for evening. Our favourite? Intricate tonal embroidery on evening dresses.
At Christian Dior, Raf Simons stayed true to his sharp shapes with a futuristic twist. Think David Bowie with a twist of A Space Odyssey. The atmosphere was made electric, with a dramatic, mirrored venue. What caught our eye on the ramp were the vinyl high boots and the flared skirts with ribbons.
Chanel championed separates with high contrast graphic lines, while staying true to its tweed twin sets. There were elements of sportswear, coupled with the dreamy, futuristic wedding theme - all adding a twist of the unexpected to the mood.
Jean Paul Gaultier’s show was full of contrasts. Marrying bridal with androgyny and sportswear – ambitious, for couture. What set this collection apart were the clean lines, the monochrome palette and the unexpected casting (hello, Naomi Campbell!).
Viktor & Rolf’s surreal collection won our hearts. The straw headgear, giant Van Gogh-esque flowers, and voluminous dresses were compelling enough for an art collector to snap them for a museum in Netherlands, right after the show.
Armani Privé was particularly dreamy. The bamboo print was a key element adding a touch of organic to the understated luxury of this collection. The best part? Spotting fashion's favourite It girl Sonam Kapoor on the FROW in a plunging neckline and sheer pyjamas.
Valentino went folkloric this season with Russian influences very strongly seeping into most of the looks. The result was a mix of a timeless femininity, with strong bursts of the signature Valentino red. Prints embroidered on wispy tulle dresses added an element of innocent romance.
Versace stuck to its Amazonian sexiness. The cut-out dresses clung perfectly around the body. The tailoring fetched an massive applause. It was the right kind of risqué even - covered-up and smokin' sexy.
