The Fatty Bao kick-starts Bao Wow Festival

There are few things we love more than sinking our teeth into a pillowy-soft bao bun. And as if Fatty Bao wasn’t tempting enough already, they’ve just kick-started the #BaoWowFestival.

While old favourites are still on the menu, there are bunch of new ones to sample. Start with the lamb chargrilled bao with chilli tamarind glaze, mint mayo and pickled carrots. But also dig into the wasabi fish bao, which has crispy fried sea bass with wasabi sauce, pickled ginger, fried garlic and shichi-mi. The char siu bao with barbecued pork belly is a no brainer, so you might want to give the chilli crab and prawn bao this time, which has crab cake with Asian slaw, pickled watermelon rind and fried garlic. 

We are leaning towards the spicy wild mushroom and chick pea bao, which has a neat kick of chilli garlic mayo, and the five spice fried chicken bao. The cheesy kimchi potato bao with scallion and Korean chilli powder sounds promising. Oh, even the fried eggplant bao marinated in miso with kimchi cabbage and a drizzle of Sriracha sauce. Just going over it again is making us very, very hungry. Guess we’ll just have to go back for more.
