The Story by Alexander McQueen is a multi-hyphenate, modern accessory

A bag that can be worn as a belt; a tote that can be folded into a clutch and mobile cases that can be worn as necklaces—bags do not solely serve one purpose anymore. Multi-hyphenate accessories are the new norm. And, this pluralistic world of arm candies is now being furthered through the iconic house of Alexander McQueen.

Alexander McQueen's Story bag can be carried as both, a clutch and a messenger bag

McQueen’s new bag called The Story was launched for the Spring/Summer 2020 pre-collection. The bag is a collision of two unlikely worlds; it puts a tailored twist to their otherwise feminine yet provocative universe. The Story, in fact, represents the evolution of McQueen’s heritage metal knuckle into a more minimalistic, jewellery-like handle that can be carried in the day and can be worn as a clutch in the evening.

Kaia Gerber paired the bag with an oversized blazer

The bag has been spotted on countless celebrities as well, from Kaia Gerber and Charlize Theron to Naomi Campbell and Selena Gomez. It’s available in a bevy of colours—from a robust red to a shocking pink—that also inspired McQueen’s ready-to-wear collection. The colours are Sarah Burton’s ode to flowers that are now extinct—a sentiment that can also be found in its efforts to make the brand sustainable and eco-conscious.
