Olivier Rousteing used the Billboard Music Awards, Las Vegas, to tease his collaboration with H&M. Jourdan Dunn stepped out in a sexy-band-girl-meets-military ensemble with thigh high boots, and a scalloped red skirt. Kendall Jenner wore an embroidered jacket. And both looks were believed to be solely Balmain, till Rousteing revealed the collab.
H&M took to Instagram with the hashtag #HMBalmaination to announce that the new line will be out on November 5 – on their e-commerce site and stores worldwide. (By which time H&M’s Indian outpost should be ready.) What we do know from Style.com is that it will include women’s and men’s clothes, shoes and accessories. From the early looks it’s easy to see that it’s a huge departure for the high-street giant, which has brought us luxe collaborations for 11 straight years (starting with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004 to Alexander Wang in 2014, to now Balmain). Rousteing seems to be going for a much sexier vibe, and adding recruits to his Balmain Army.
