Tissot’s Brand Summit at Chandigarh’s Oberoi Sukhvilas was a celebration of exquisite timepieces

Over time, horology has become an art form for connoisseurs and watches have become into keepsakes that meld style with substance and one could witness the same at Tissot’s Brand Summit. The Swiss watchmaking company, which is part of the Swatch Group, is famous for making watches that aren’t just luxurious but also available at affordable price points. For its annual Brand Summit, the company chose the beautiful backdrop of The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort in Chandigarh. Known for its extensive gardens, breathtaking fountains and a spa that merges western and ayurvedic treatments, it served as the perfect venue for the event.

The event also displayed yet-to-be-released styles

Members of the media and watch retailers gathered at the hotel to view Tissot’s latest offerings. Puneet Mathur, Brand Head of Tissot India and Olivier Cosandier, VP Sales at Tissot gave the media a closeup look of watches that are yet to launch along with the ones that were unveiled last year. Alongside the new watches, vintage pieces were also displayed to show the brand’s rich heritage at Tissot’s Brand Summit. Other brand executives were taking patrons through several presentations and walk-throughs of the timepieces, that also gave a sense of Tissot’s rich past. Founded in 1853, the Swiss watch industry exports more than four million watches every year. And, that’s for a reason: the company has always stood for quality and reliability.

Some of the watches on display were inspired by racing cars and motorbikes. Other automatic styles had a transparent back that would let the wearer see its stunning mechanism at the back. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the brand has envisioned styles for people who are always on the go. Along with brand presentations, guests took part in a gala dinner in the evening, with music and food prepared by the hotel at Tissot’s Brand Summit. They could also enjoy the picturesque outdoors of the hotel and go for spas. Ultimately, seeing the futuristic styles of the Tissot watches at the heritage property made added to the brand’s strong narrative.
