For his latest collection, Varun Bahl took a delicate approach to couture wear with ruffles, sheer panels and soft shades of mustards mixed with greys. Even the monotone outfits were kept clean and simple with only details like soft 3D ruffles, cutwork embroidery and cascading hemlines. Thread embroidery on lehengas was highlighted with hints of zardozi shadowing it. Bahl kept his silhouettes traditional, concentrating on classics like saris, anarkalis and lehengas, but made them come alive with intricate embroidery. He ended the show with a red lehenga, letting the sophistication of the thread embroidery emerge as the hero of the outfit.
