How important is it for an actor to look like the real-life character they’re playing? Nicole Kidman’s prosthetic nose could do only so much to bring to mind Virginia Woolf in The Hours, the rest was up to her talent to make you believe—and she has that in spades. Recently, there’s been some argument out there on whether Michael Fassbender looks anything like the Silicon Valley icon and co-founder of Apple Inc, after the trailer for Steve Jobs was released this week. The film, directed by Danny Boyle, written by Aaron Sorkin and based on the best-selling biography by Walter Isaacson, will be out this October. With a team like that, this movie will probably be worth your while, regardless of whether Fassbender looks like Jobs or not. After all, Ashton Kutcher made a pretty good likeness in the 2013 Jobs, and that didn’t help the film much.
