Trends to take home from Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020

Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020 may have come to an end for the season but these trends will have a ripple effect in your wardrobes this summer. Books turned into bags (at Shahin Mannan), whites dominated the runway (Ragini Ahuja’s entire collection was white), and sustainability continued to reign supreme, even beyond the the Sustainability Day.

Here are all the trends you need to watch out for, straight from the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020 runways:

1. Big prints

It seems like the designers adhered to the ‘”go big or go home” idea with prints this season. And frankly, we’re all for it.

2. Ruffles

Ruffles may have never abandoned our wardrobes completely but for summer/resort this year, it’s making a star entry again. Think flirty, think breezy, think…vacation.

3. Plunging necklines

‘Tis the season to go risqué. The trick is to balance it out with sleeve length, hem line, and of course, unapologetic sass.

4. Sheer

Did anyone get the memo for sheer fabric and its dominance on the runway this season? Well, it’s here nonetheless, and it is going to take over dresses, lehengas, sarees, and even your cholis.

5. Voluminous silhouettes

Did say someone say ‘drama’? Because these big, bold silhouettes spilled some all over the runways. Here’s to having your Cinderella moment.
