Not that it was a competition, but if you must know, Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar just won Valentine’s Day. The Bollywood star couple, who have been married for 17 years, often offer fans a glimpse into their married life via social media posts that are equal parts mushy and self-deprecating, and Twinkle’s Valentine’s Day post was no different.
In the post, Akshay — who has just flown in from Delhi as a surprise — poses with two giant bouquets of flowers, though he was quick to point out to his wife that she’s not the only leading lady in his life. Twinkle explains, “And my best friend flies in for a Valentine’s day surprise with, ‘Both are not for you, one is for my daughter! #happyvalentinesday”.
With his movie Padman enjoying a successful launch last Friday, Akshay is still doing his bit to ensure periods are no longer treated like a social taboo. In a pre-Valentine’s Day post, the action star appealed to his followers, saying, “Don’t forget to buy all the Women in your life Pads as well as Candies, Chocolates and Flowers this #ValentinesDay. Celebrate Her.”
