Urvashi Kaur set the ball rolling on Day 1 of Lakme Fashion Week 2017 with indigenous textiles, even before you could say the words 'Sustainable Fashion Day'. The designer thumbed through her travel diary for inspiration for her Summer/Resort collection at Lakme Fashion Week 2017.
The result is a trans-seasonal collection with little glimpses of gypsy fashion flitting through. Sheer cropped tops were matched with printed pants; delicate bustiers with formal shirts. The devil does indeed lie in the details, and her collection had a rich line-up of hand tucking, rouching and micro pleating giving depth to silhouettes.
