Set in the artistic Mehrauli district of New Delhi, Varun Bahl’s new store is all things art fused with fashion. “The location with its colonial architecture, high ceilings, rusticated walls and arched colonnades is a trademark in itself,” Varun says, adding, “I love the old world charm. The design ideology is to celebrate both the history and ethos of the brand in all its grandeur, so what better than One Style Mile?”
Art Nouveau being the prime influence in terms of design, the rich interiors are complemented with asymmetrical archways, and signature Klove studio lighting. Each fixture draws inspiration from the lines and forms from the iconic period. They also coincidently resonate in his latest collection, which will also be launched in the store.
But what truly sets the store apart you ask? The bespoke atelier. The idea is to give the couple a special experience from the moment they say ‘I do’. It is a rather interesting take on making the (otherwise cumbersome) process of selecting and customising your dream ensemble a reality. “What the couple needs the most is someone who will listen to them and understand individual body shapes. More importantly, complement their personal style and colour choices” he elaborates.
But the service doesn’t stop there, they are also offering access to their events vertical, titled Aurum. The last project they did was the wedding of Tanira Sethi, daughter of FDCI president Sunil Sethi. So if you’re confused on how to go about planning your big day, you know where to go.
