In news that surprises nobody, David Beckham is about as close to perfection as the laws of nature will allow. This completely obvious fact was further reiterated by one Victoria Beckham, who fronts Elle UK’s April issue. In the interview, Victoria explains why she and her footballer-philanthropist-demi-god husband are able to sustain multi-million dollar businesses while defying the shelf life of the average celebrity marriage.
““David and I both respect that each of us are very, very busy; we are both running big businesses, but we do put the phones down, and sometimes we just talk”, the designer explains. Victoria adds that David pitches in equally with taking care of their four children, Brooklyn, Cruz, Romeo and Harper.
“David’s great. During fashion week, when I’m working, the children will be in New York and he’s already planned to take them to museums then out for dinner on Saturday night, so he is very good at that sort of thing — as am I. That’s how you can show your support in a marriage, by saying, ‘You know what, I’ve got this.’ That’s what makes a good partnership.”
Given that David Beckham looks like this, we’d be happy if he just, well… showed up. Which makes this daddy-do-gooder reputation even more envy-inducing.
