Anti-fit and easy-breezy are just a couple of terms that define the aesthetic of the handmade fashion label, Péro. Look closely and you will see its founder and designer Aneeth Arora’s love for unusual textiles blended into the crux of the brand.
This year, in collaboration with Lakme Fashion Week, Péro took an unanticipated turn of sorts for its Fall-Winter collection, D I S C O. The brand drew inspiration from the disco-goers of the 1970s, who often wore extravagant clothing adorned with glitter that would shimmer under the lights. Think sequins, retro stripes, bold checks, bright colours like purple, mint, and red all incorporated into a stunning line.
The Fall-Winter 2020 collection makes use of Australian merino wool woven by the weavers of Himachal Pradesh. Arora sourced fabrics from pan country for this collection — cotton stripes sourced from West Bengal, mashru stripes from Gujarat, handwoven silks from Bhagalpur, mulberry silk from South India and light chanderi from Madhya Pradesh came together to give Arora’s creative vision a solid form.
