Justin Bieber recently took over from Mark Wahlberg as the celebrity face of Calvin Klein. But it’s not the face that’s the problem, the Bieb still looks like a hip Elvis impersonator. As soon as the ad was released, the popstar had people screaming photoshop! over his beefy arms, bubble butt and significant bulge. Celeb-spotting site Breatheheavy.com claimed it had the ‘un-retouched’ version of the shot and put up a gif showing how the Bieb was bulked up.
After it received a lawsuit threat from Bieber’s lawyers, though, the site deleted the post and apologised petulantly. ‘We sincerely apologize to Bieber for the hit to his ego and to the millions of tweens on social media we upset.’
But the lines have been drawn. In the battle of the bulge, you’re either a belieber or a h8r. Here are some reactions from both sides:
‘I can definitely confirm that he is a well-endowed guy. I sound weird saying that, but yes.’
Bieber’s trainer Patrick Nilsson
‘My baby was the 1st and the best and not to mention…..wow the retouching.’
Mark Wahlberg’s wife Rhea got so much hate for this
‘I’m seriously concerned about the curvature of this guy’s spine. Is it just bad posture or does he have scoliosis or what?’
Concerned citizen and commenter GO-GO-CHOCOBO
‘People like you are the reason there’s no world peace! Pls execute yourself ASAP @SpencerAlthouse’

And this advice by commenter Jimmy Yukovich on Huffington Post that was roundly ignored by everyone:
‘Leave the kid alone already. It doesn’t matter what the guy does, people will criticize him. Just be nice people! Just be nice!’
