India’s most stylish Bollywood stars are as invested in Lakme Fashion Week as the participating designers, if yesterday’s festivities were anything to go by. Shahid Kapoor and his lovely wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor, gave us major deja vu when they walked down Anita Dongre’s runway dressed in wedding finery, marking their first time on the ramp as a couple. Shahid joked that he was actually playing the “third wheel” since Anita and Mira were close friends and his presence on the ramp was secondary to Mira’s.
Diana Penty had her desi version of that famous Sex And The City moment, dressed in a ankle-length tulle skirt paired with an embroidered crop top from Anita Dongre that served as a preview for the collection. Katrina Kaif’s lookalike sister Isabelle, who was recently announced as the new face of Lakme, also joined the party in a romantic ’50s-inspired embroidered dress.
Taapsee Pannu put on quite a show for the Label by Ritu Kumar show, embodying the Spring/Summer collection’s hip-hop vibes in her lame dress worn open over a tank top and cut-off shorts.
Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem attended the Gen Next show, pledging their support to the debutant pair behind Two.TwoStudio in their matching pinstriped ensembles.
