Zayn Malik admits girlfriend Gigi Hadid had a very positive effect on him

Zayn Malik spent two years in a defined relationship with Gigi Hadid before announcing their emotional split via Twitter note statements in March. They were photographed making out again in April, clearly back on. But despite the Instagram official Pokémon ‘grams or PDA-filled outings, the 25-year-old tells GQ that he won’t DTR with Hadid. His explanation is basically many guys’ typical BS one: “We’re adults. We don’t need to put a label on it, make it something for people’s expectations.” Okay.

Hadid likely isn’t bothered by this, considering the fact she’s 1) gorgeous and doesn’t need to date any man, especially one who doesn’t want to be called her boyfriend, and 2) in the same interview, Malik talked about the two going on dates and his plans for them to share finances someday. He told GQ’s Carrie Battan that Hadid made him more positive. “I had a very negative outlook on things. That might have been adolescence or testosterone or whatever the fuck was running through my body at the time,” he said. “She’s helped me to look at things from a positive angle.” Hadid, Malik said, is also good with dates, which Battan misheard as good with debts. “No, no. Dates. She doesn’t handle my finances yet,” he corrected. “We’ll get to that eventually.”

He also, Battan noted, talked about Hadid in the present tense and used the coupley term “we” a lot. “I’m really thankful that I met her,” he said. “We go to the farm.” “We have horses.” And also, “We’re still really good friends, and we’re still in contact, no bad blood.”

Malik has talked about how serious he was about Hadid before, telling Ryan Seacrest before they got back together that he had been planning to be with her forever. “I was aspiring to be in love with someone for the rest of my life and the rest of theirs, as we all do. And things change and we move forward in life.”
