I am MELTING!
Not like Olaf, ‘I love the heat but I am made out of snow’ way, but like the Wicked Witch of the West, ‘Water has touched me and now I will die’ way. I don’t think I was made for the tropical climate at all! The sweaty, sticky weather is not for me. Aside from drinking things with EXTRA ice, I also wish I could live in an ice bath. And while I try to manifest snow – here’s a list of my beauty essentials that have helped and will help me survive in May. If you’re like me, consider this your ultimate summer survival guide. So, grab an iced drink and let’s jump into my editor’s picks for May!
1. Tom Ford Azure Lime
While I do change my scents in the summer, I usually veer towards creamier, deeper, musky/spicy scents. I got my hands on this one and it is just the summer fragrance I needed. It has a fresh citrusy scent along with woody undertones.

2. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Soothing Face and Body Balm B5+
My vanity will never be without this one. I was using this way before TikTok and Instagram found it and I don’t think I will ever stop. This is my PM moisturiser regardless of season.

3. Estee Lauder Perfectionist Pro Multi-Defense Aqua Uv Gel SPF 50
If there is something I have multiples of and use up entirely every single time, is sunscreen. This one leaves no white cast, is super light, doesn’t pill and doesn’t sting my eyes. Will need many more tubes.

4. ETUDE HOUSE Glow Fixing Tint – 03 Dewy Fig
I am a tint girly all year long, but I move towards fresher-looking tints in the summer. This new one gives me the right flush of colour and the stain it leaves behind stays for quite a while.

5. Pixi On The Glow Bronze Warm Glow
May brings my ‘I won’t wear makeup because it’s going to melt off anyway’ personality to the forefront. This fits right in; I love the flush of colour it adds even when I don’t have any makeup on.

6. Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm – Pink Sugar
My love for hydrating lip products isn’t a secret. I need to buy each and everyone available. For the summer though, I’ve been reaching out for this one a lot more than the others. Now I need to get all the other versions.

7. The Face Shop Dr.Belmeur Clarifying Spot Soothing Patches
I am still on the fence about pimple patches actually working/healing, especially if they don’t have any microneedles or actives. But I use them so I am not constantly touching the zit and infecting the area. These patches are practically invisible. I was sitting across from a friend for lunch and she didn’t even realise I had it on.

8. Rhode peptide glazing fluid
I’ve moved towards minimising my skincare routine. And because of the heat, my skin is overly sensitive during these months so I have been focussing on repairing and maintaining my skin barrier.
