Growing up with body insecurities and dealing with turmoil in her life early on has made Natasha Moor the person she is. On a mission to give her loyal consumers what she lacked growing up, Moor built her brand with positivity, affirmations, and warmth she believes no other brand can offer. “Growing up, I dealt with acne and was overweight. Make-up became my safety net and made me feel confident. That’s the security I want to give consumers,” says Moor. Here’s what she has to say about her brand, the industry, and trends.
ELLE: What is your beauty routine like?
Natasha Moor (NM): I always try to get good steam in the evening or morning, and go to the gym. Sweat is one of the most essential things in your beauty routine. I follow the complete regime from cleanser, toner, and moisturiser to regular face masks. I never go to sleep with make-up on. My make-up routine, however, is simple. I don’t use foundation. I only use concealer, following it up with a light blush, contour, mascara, eyeliner, and lipstick.
ELLE: How did you get interested in building your brand?
NM: When doing bridal make-up, I didn’t have colours that suited their skin tones. Either they were too orange or too bright. Also, the lipstick would often smudge because there was no formula in the market that was not just long-lasting but felt good on the lips. So, I started mixing and matching formulas and developed the product for two years. My first product was a lipstick.
ELLE: If you had to choose two of your favourite products, what would they be?
NM: Natasha Moor Sponge and Molten Matte Lipstick.
ELLE: Tell us how you start and end your day.
NM: I don’t have a standard, everyday routine. I thought I wanted one, but I love it this way. I’ve been on the road for three months. I am in a different country every week, and I am embracing it.
ELLE: When you launch new products, what do you base it on?
NM: I won’t launch a product unless it solves a problem in the market. Something as simple as my sponge – I never launched it until I felt that the one I was using lacked a pointy tip that reached the contours of the face.
ELLE: What trends do you think will blow up in the coming months?
NM: Pops of colours are always going to be there. However, we’ll come to a point of balance where you wear an everyday look but with a little more drama.
ELLE: How does your brand stand out in a sea of beauty brands?
NM: With my brand, I am also trying to build a community of people who are supportive and encouraging. My products come with positive affirmations, and it’s a brand that people can relate to. I’m often asked why people love my products, It is because they feel connected to me.
