December 31 is coming up and along with where you’re heading, your outfit, shoes and more, the next big thing is to get your most radiant look on. In the run-up to the New Year’s Eve party, skin experts share how there’s a surge in demand for such fixes that brighten the complexion, enhance the skin’s texture and give you a rejuvenated look. Affirms Dr Niti Gaur, MD and founder of Citrine Clinic, Gurgaon, “There's definitely a substantial surge in skincare treatments and routines as people gear up for New Year's Eve. It's a time when everyone wants to look their best, and glowing, healthy skin is one of the top priorities.” Best part? These are pain-free and don’t require much time at all.
Red Carpet Facials and Photo Facial Glow-Up
Dr Sravya C. Tipirneni, Consultant Dermatologist, Cosmetologist & Trichologist at Manipal Hospital in Bangalore, reveals what’s popular: “The new, hot pre-party treatments are the red carpet facial and the photo facial glow-up. In the former, we use radio frequency technology, no needles, no pain. It’s called forma and it instantly tightens and blushed-up the skin to give a snatched appearance for a red carpet look. It only involves a hot stone massage kind of feeling with a probe that emits a little warmth and energy. It tightens the skin on top for immediate effect and gives a lovely blush to the face. The second thing is a photo-facial glow, where a light of 560-580 nanometers is flashed on a gel-applied face to instantly brighten it by almost 30-40 per cent. This also removes tan, pigmentation, sun damage and just the right glow for you to attend any festive occasion. People love it because it’s instant, it involves no needles, no pain or downtime and it lasts for a while to carry you through the holiday season.” She adds, “Of course, if you have more downtime, the Morpheus 8 is very, very big. It’s a complete solution to acne scars, improve skin texture, remove wrinkles and fine lines – everything can be seen in just two sessions.”
Laser Toning
Another popular quick fix that’s also a non-invasive procedure, is doing the rounds. Dr Sravya adds, “Laser toning prior to the holiday season or party is also very popular. It does not suit all skin types, but most skin types and immediately gives that smooth texture and brightening about 48-72 hours later and it lasts,” too.
Oxygeneo
Just like the body, the skin needs nutrients and the Oxygeno is meant to do just that. Shares Dr Kashish Kalra, Head of Dermatology and founder or Dr Kalra's Skin Clinic, Delhi. “With pollution levels being on rise, a lot of people are going in for a treatment that can unravel the effects of it. Remember, pollution can play havoc on the skin, leading to the development of skin issues like clogging of pores and even speed up aging. Here’s where Oygeneo comes in. It involves oxygenation and infusing the skin with nutrients. It’s usually a one-hour treatment. A number of party peels are also popular.”
Hollywood Spectra Toning
Hailed as a game-changer, this is in big demand, too. Elaborates Dr Piyusha Bhagde, founder and chief dermatologist at Skin Ethics Clinic, Akola, “This is a painless procedure that is globally used for instant glowing skin. It improves the skin tone and texture, reduces fine lines, helps to achieve a smoother, more youthful appearance and stimulates collagen. This is a laser treatment that targets pigmentation in the cells. This treatment is performed once a month and with each treatment you notice skin improvement owing to the new collagen formation and stimulation which will maintain a youthful look.” She adds, “Moreover, a powerful combination treatment of MediFacial + Hollywood Spectra is becoming increasingly popular for its anti-aging and brightening benefits. With more people seeking safe and result-oriented treatments, this combination is about 20% more effective.”
Korean Facials
Dr Meghna Mour, Chief Dermatologist at Skuccii Supercliniqs, says, “There's a rush for skin fixes for NYE, and this weekend must be seeing a huge rush for it. So yes, the clinic is buzzing with people seeking last-minute treatments to look their best for NYE. Glow-enhancing and quick-fix solutions with minimal downtime are in high demand. Love the Glass Skin look? That’s on the list, too. She shares what a lot of people are going in for and explains: “Korean facials have emerged as one of the most sought-after skin treatments today. They focus on deep hydration and rejuvenation and are about a careful, multi-step process that aims to improve the skin’s natural radiance while also addressing other concerns. The treatments are centred around deep cleansing, followed by gentle exfoliation and also an infusion of nutrient-packed serums and masks. The result is said to improve texture and luminosity, reduce pigmentation and give the skin a smooth, plump finish, making them a go-to treatment.”
