I don’t know about you, but we appreciate a good fashion collaboration, especially the one we didn’t see coming. Can you imagine Carrie Bradshaw’s royal blue pumps in possibly a flat version? Sure, it might be blasphemous, but for many of us, this is a dream come true. And it’s happening. German shoe label Birkenstock is no stranger to luxe collaborations, and their previous collaboration with Dior makes a case for the same. Now Birkenstock has the fashion world buzzing once again. Birkenstock and iconic shoe designer Manolo Blahnik are collaborating!

On March 24th, 2022, a 7-piece Birkenstock x Manolo Blahnik footwear collection will be unveiled at 1774.com, manoloblahnik.com, all Manolo Blahnik retail locations, as well as select retailers globally. Here’s what Manolo Blahnik had to say about the collaboration. “This wonderful collaboration with Birkenstock was born very naturally out of a joint love that my niece Kristina and I have of Birkenstock, I have always admired their sandals and have worn them for as long as I can remember. The shoes are extremely well crafted and completely timeless, both essential elements in my own designs and why this collaboration has worked so well. Birkenstock truly has genuine authenticity, continually remaining true to their values, which I adore. They have integrity that’s why our partnership is perfect.”

Manolo Blahnik’s characteristic attention on all eye-catching features is featured prominently in the collection, which adds a touch of glam to the signature Birkenstock shoe. The iconic clogs come encrusted with crystals and wrapped in a special polka dot shoebox and dust bag, a typical Manolo Blahnik design. This richly-coloured collection incorporates the best parts of both brands–for a spectacular, regal meeting of creative minds.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Manolo Blahnik, whose unrivalled craftsmanship has long set the bar for shoemaking. This is a unique collection, fusing our trademark designs with the flair of Manolo  Blahnik, to create pieces that embrace a bold and directional aesthetic that takes both to a new level.” – Oliver Reichert, CEO Birkenstock.
