Swiss luxury company Chopard unveiled its Red Carpet collection, “The ultimate Art of Haute Joaillerie” in honour of the 76th Cannes Film Festival. This collection features a wide range of intriguing pieces that reflect Caroline Scheufele’s, Chopard’s artistic director and co-president, insatiable curiosity.

Chopard has been an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival since 1998.  This year, the brand has created a special edition focused on reimagining the wonder of the Red Carpet Collection. The hallmarks of this 2023 edition, through which the Maison exhibits its connection with art, are emotion, artistic audacity, and technological perfection. This will be presented at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, which will take place from May 16 to May 27, 2023. Chopard’s long-standing association with the Cannes Film Festival ensures commitment both towards luxury and respect to the environment. This historic partnership of Chopard with Cannes marks a milestone in the legendary journey that brings the best of cinema to the red carpet.

Inspired by the backstage look at a film shoot, the campaign also stars Chopard’s Global Ambassador Julia Roberts in the festival’s latest campaign. Each year, the brand presents original creations of Chopard’s Co-President and Artistic Director. This year, she unveils her 76 Haute Joaillerie designed masterpieces featuring her creative spirit, pushing the boundaries of innovation. Caroline Scheufele draws inspiration from her travel diaries. It’s her innate sense of curiosity about the world and its people that encourages her creativity, whether it’s in the form of architecture, literature, painting, dancing, or film.

For Caroline, the world is her muse. Almost anything can inspire fantasies of magnificent adornments of precious stones. A dog collar necklace with diamond feathers expertly sculpted to make gossamer-light volutes is another example of a remarkable piece of jewellery. Its central yellow sapphire is supported by a collection of antique-style sculptures carved in gold and set with brilliant-cut diamonds.

Chopard has developed a remarkable connection with the Cannes Film Festival over the past 26 years, and the brand is the only jeweller given the authority to create the Palme d’Or, the most elite of all cinematography awards. The iconic award, which represents maison’s passion for cinema, dedication to sustainable luxury and the exceptional skill of its artisans, has been made from Fair mined-certified ethical gold. The timeless design of the stunning Palm d’Or is a reference to the palm trees lining La Croisette as well as to the city of Cannes’. In terms of design, Chopard instils volume and movement into the 19 leaves of the ‘divine’ golden palm branch that appears to be undulating in a sea breeze, while the stem is tipped with a heart, the signature of Chopard. The stunning Palme d’Or rests on a block of rock crystal in the form of an emerald-cut diamond, whose natural inclusions render each piece unique.

The actresses and actors appearing on the red carpet this year selected 76 works of art from the collection of Haute Joaillerie crafts. This will be unveiled in the beautiful setting of the Palais des Festivals. Meanwhile the Chopard rooftop at the Martinez Hotel will be witnessing all the bustle  during the Cannes fortnight.
