IPL season is in full swing with just a couple weeks left, to lend another winner (CSK, obviously) to this glorious sports franchise. Now whether you support the hard-hitting SRH troupe or are ardent fans of RCB (my heart goes out to you), the rivalry between the teams is surely a fun aspect, that we fans enjoy.
Adding onto that, we’ve tried making a style guide for you, in case you intend to dress up like your teams, this season. In general, we mean. Cheering from home and all. No one’s wearing silk coord sets to the stadium, please. I mean you’re allowed to, in the name of ‘fashun’ if you say. Keep reading and find your team’s sartorial twin, this IPL.
Chennai Super Kings
A match made in heaven. This AK OK lehenga skirt and sporty crop top embrace CSK’s palette and continual drive to bag the cup, pretty well. My favourite team (and brand) for a reason.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB fans sure love their pomp. This copper mulled metallic soft pullover tunic and matching wide bottom pants by Kunal Anil Tanna are perfect for the Kohli squad.
Mumbai Indians
‘A Shot of Mumbai’ by Huemn X Royal Enfield for the MI fans. Evoking the dynamism of Mumbai, a city renowned for its bustling streets and magnetic culture, the collection also serves as an ode to this vibrant metropolis.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Hell-bent on shattering records and disrupting the points table, SRH is emerging as the undoubted frontrunner this season. Their indomitable reign sure demands an ensemble fit for royalty, with the Shanti Banaras pichwai bundi coming right to the rescue.
Delhi Capitals
Denoting DC’s dynamic lineup, this asymmetrical design of the dress sparks a lot of visual interest, while the colour-blocking adds much oomph. Both, fascinating.
Kolkata Knight Riders
From stagnating in the second half of the points table, to now cementing itself at the number 1 spot, KKR’s rise to glory has been nothing short of a fairytale. Looks like KKR fans need to cop Superkicks’ ‘Reborn’ tee as a testament to their brilliance, this IPL tournament.
Gujarat Titans
While my heart goes out to this team, I find it imperative to amp up the sartorial spirits for all Gujarat Titans fans this IPL, just so they can make a comeback stronger, next year. Spotlight on this statement, power-shoulder number – just the right outfit to instil some confidence.
Lucknow Super Giants
Sometimes they’re in, sometimes they’re not. LSG is having fun with their IPL matches and their fans need something to keep the fun spirit intact – this blazer set by Nautanky fits the memo just right.
Rajasthan Royals
At this point, RR can just take a break from the remaining IPL matches and still qualify. Thus we’ve given them the Porto Tie Top from the Summer Somewhere because they’re ready to jet-set-go (preferably with the trophy in hand)
Punjab Kings
Punjab fans know how to have a good time. It reflects in their enthusiasm, you see. Despite a mediocre performance this year, spirits are still high for the team and this SVA coord set will come in handy for the post-match IPL parties!
