Activist Workshop locations: In keeping with its Activist DNA, the brand seeks for long-term, systemic change and hence intends to convert all new locations into Activist Workshops. The Body Shop is launching an Activist Workshop store to make returning and recycling plastic bottles an essential part of life. The stores will have a Return, Recycle, Repeat section that will help customers easily recycle their products and packaging, including empty tubs, plastic bottles, or tubes. Making Young voices heard through their ‘Be Seen, Be Heard’ initiative.
Through the Why25 programme, The Body Shop and Young India Foundation are collaborating to amplify more young voices in public life. According to The Body Shop Global Youth Survey, 86% of Indian youth want to make positive changes in the world, and 43% want to be heard in public. However, there is a growing demographic difference in public life, with youthful voices being under-represented. Through three key aims, the Why25 programme will encourage long-term engagement of young people in public decision-making.
Ms. Harmeet Singh, Vice President, Marketing E-Commerce and Product, Asia South at The Body Shop India said, “As a changemaking beauty company which has always worked towards social and environmental impact, we believe that we have a serious responsibility towards building a better world for our future generations and also the planet. Thus, we strive to institute the same concept in our activations and campaigns. We are also focusing on creating an improved customer experience at all our new retail spaces with the activist workshop stores, which is based on our unique vision and our identity as a changemaking brand. In these stores, people can go and engage with all the products for a high-quality experience and learn personally about the brand’s sustainability initiatives as everything there tells a story.”
