Best known for her refreshing, young and high-glam take on traditional silhouettes, the fashion designer is a renowned name amongst celebrities. ELLE: What does beauty mean to you personally?
Arpita Mehta (AM): Beauty to me is internal happiness. It always shows in your demeanour and on your face!
ELLE: Your beauty obsession?
AM: Always finding the right water-based light cream for my face that keeps my skin soft and supple.
ELLE: A beauty tip you would pass down to your children.
AM: Less is more always! Also, icing your face will give you instant freshness. I love that trick, and it is something I’d surely tell my kids.
ELLE: Your favourite fragrance?
AM: Chance by Chanel and Romance by Dolce & Gabbana.
ELLE: What’s the best beauty advice you’ve received?
AM: I was taught by my parents that fresh air, vitamin D and healthy eating are a big part of beauty.
ELLE: What’s your evening ritual?
AM: I’m generally at the office until evening, and the minute I’m home, I have to shower, eat dinner by 7:30 to 8 PM. I love eating my dinners early. Beauty wise I don’t have a specific routine, but at night before sleeping, I apply Vaseline under my eyes to keep my under-eyes hydrated.
ELLE: Your mantra for being confident?
AM: Working out and staying fit makes me feel confident, so I try doing that as much as possible.
