A leading celebrity and bridal makeup artist, Arti has worked with some of the top names in the industry like Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Katrina Kaif, Parineeti Chopra and more. Ahead of her participation at the three-day virtual event, find out her answers to our quick rapid fire.
ELLE: One makeup trend that you will never get tired of?
Arti Nayar (AN): It definitely has to be the use of colour when it comes to doing eye makeup.
ELLE: What’s your take on luxury fashion brands launching their makeup lines?
AN: I think it’s great because they have such a great take on the industry. They know exactly what is going on, they know the looks that they want to create, and they do actually set trends for the year with fashion weeks around the world.
ELLE: If given a chance, which celebrity’s makeup would you like to do and why?
AN: I have always wanted to do Sushmita Sen’s makeup. I think she is a wonderful woman, has a mind of her own, is super independent, and I really admire all that she has achieved.
ELLE: Makeup trends you foresee gaining momentum in fall 2021?
AN: I definitely think that brow gel, really combing up the brows and keeping them a little uneven, is going to be a trend. Another trend that I really foresee coming back would be super shiny dewy skin, just like enhancing the skin texture and dewiness. I also think highlighters are really going to come back in a big way.
ELLE: How can someone pick the right foundation based on their skin tone?
AN: The key to picking up the right foundation is two things:
1) Knowing your skin type
2) Knowing your skin tone
Start with understanding what your skin tone is, whether it’s warm, cool or neutral. Knowing that will determine what kind of foundation you use.
