Twenty-five-year-old Prithvi Paltan’s podcast, Transpeak, is only three months old but has already made its mark and created a safe space for the transmasculine community to come together. Each episode features a guest from the community and has a mix of conversations about personal journeys, discussions about issues that affect the community, and an educational takeaway for everyone listening.

For Prithvi, the podcast is his attempt to use his life learnings as a transmasculine person and build a platform for the community and everyone else who is willing to educate themselves. Opening up about his own experiences on social media, Prithvi writes, “Even when I was as young as 9-odd years old, I knew who I was. I didn’t have the language to call myself trans, but I didn’t need language to be myself. At age 25, I found the courage to come out to my parents. It’s a work-in-progress, but I’m doing the best I can. One of the reasons I took so long to come into my own is the lack of holistic media representation around trans masculine people. I thought we didn’t exist that I was an anomaly, a mere, queer blip on the radar.”

“Transpeak (is) an honest attempt at spotlighting trans masculine people from Mumbai. To all the trans people and cis people who want to understand us better, hear an episode, and you will want to hear more,” he adds.
