#ELLETech: I Used The OPPO Reno 6 Pro 5G Diwali Edition Phone And Here’s How It Went

It’s the camera. Yep, that’s the highlight of this phone. OPPO is known for having the best camera an android phone offers, and the Reno6 Pro 5G lives up to the promise. I used it over Diwali festivities and suddenly I was the one in the group with the best camera (64 MP).

What Worked For Me

As someone who’s not usually high on bling, I surprisingly liked the phone’s muted shiny gold back—a special feature in the Diwali edition; It does attract double takes and compliments. I used the phone more than usual, for the whole day and the battery did not disappoint. It also gets fully charged in a pretty short time. I used multiple apps together, without the device heating up or slowing down. Despite the camera, photo editing, video editing, Instagram, meme-making, and a lot more running in the background, this phone dealt with my hyperactivity beautifully.

Now to the everyday things. This phone is loaded with features that make everyday working smooth. I could split-screen, do a 100 things with photos (my favourite is the Bokeh Flare Portrait mode), file-share easily, and a lot more. The in-built OPPO Relax mode where I could customise soothing music and visuals deserves a special mention.

It’s got a massive roster of in-built games that made my daily commute feel like a breeze. I may be getting a bit addicted to a couple of them, but let’s not discuss that! And this slender phone with edge-screen made my weekend K-drama marathons doubly sweet. A must-mention here is how the edge glows in blue (or red or gold) to announce a new notification.

What Didn’t Leave A Mark

The phone’s charging port (C-type) and earphones port are the same, which means you can’t do both simultaneously. (The cable, charger and the earphones are all part of the box.) I’m also not kicked about the multiple content-sharing apps such as Moj and Josh pre-installed, sending sneaky notifications throughout the day.

Final Thoughts

For the price point, the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G Diwali Edition is a strong match to its contemporaries, especially in the Android category. Even if you’re thinking of making the switch to Android, this one is intuitive enough to smoothen the transition.
