The romcom Netflix series Nobody Wants This premiered in September with only ten episodes and fans can’t wait for more. The show stars Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, two actors with enough charisma to carry a series on their own—combined, they’re entrancing.
A second season, however, still hasn’t been confirmed despite the season ending on something of a cliffhanger. Here’s what we know about a possible follow-up in season two.
What Would Nobody Wants This Season Two Be About?
The story was created by Erin Foster and it is a loosely autobiographical story about her own experience with meeting her real-life partner. Bell plays Joanne, who works as a podcaster who mainly talks about sex and dating. She meets Noah, played by Brody, a rabbi. Bell identifies as agnostic and she is not Jewish, which creates a number of cultural distances between their friends, family, and daily life. Especially as Noah tries to move up in the synagogue.
The couple are off-and-on throughout the season, but Joanne ultimately ends things because she doesn’t want to make Noah choose between his role as a religious leader and his relationship with her. But he decides to give up on his dream position as head rabbi to be with her, ending the finale episode with a kiss.
Season two will likely deal with the fallout of this major decision and any possible resentments that crop up around his sacrifice. Joanne has also considered conversion, so that might be an ongoing conversation.
Who Would Return For Season 2 Of Nobody Wants This?
Bell and Brody would have to return, of course, but other recurring cast members include Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, Emily Arlook, Sherry Cola, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Stephanie Faracy, and Michael Hitchcock.
Has A Season Two Of Nobody Wants This Been Confirmed?
The first season was only released on September 26, so it may be a while before Netflix confirms a second season.
When Will Season Two Of Nobody Wants This Be Released?
The first season was filmed between January and April of this year, according to What’s On Netflix, which is a pretty quick turnaround. That’s no guarantee of a second season in a short time, but once more episodes are confirmed, who knows? Production clearly knows how to run a tight ship.
